Description Family Iridaceae Originating from South Africa Incendiary, flamboyant and brilliantly marked flowers make a huge impact, borne on upright and architectural clumps of lush, slowly spreading sword shaped leaves. The dark burgundy/green stemmed flower spikes emerge from the iris-like bright foliage, each one bearing copious, stunningly dusky red buds, opening to reveal their intense orange colour. They become widely flared, with each petal showing varying degrees of orange, making an incredibly hot display that lasts for many weeks. Easy to grow in any well drained soil in sun or light shade. Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 1.5m x 50cm.
