Description Family Pteridaceae Originating from Western USA to Northern Mexico Impossibly delicate looking black stems support a beautiful display of equally fine and lacy tiny leaflets, creating a unique soft textured mound or foliage in woodland and jungle gardens. Its exotic and finely detailed demeanour is worthy of viewing at close quarters, ideally nestling amongst moss covered stones where its roots are happiest in cool damp soil, making slowly spreading colonies. Its new leaves emerge with a pink tinge when happy and growing vigorously in dappled to deep shade. Easy to grow given plenty of moisture in all but thin, dry soils. Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 30cm x 30cm.
