Description Family Araceae Originating from the UK, Mediterranean, N Africa Glossy, marbled and exotically shaped, the unmistakable foliage of this perennial is a welcome herald of spring. The foliage is just the beginning of a succession of displays, as the distinctive spathe-shaped flowers soon become the main attraction. The bold white single ‘petal’ opens to reveal a yellow central spadix before withering as the fruit begins to form. Brilliant red berries develop, making a highly toxic but beautiful group of fiery spikes. Easy to grow in any light soil in sun or partial shade. Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 30cm x 30cm.
