DescriptionWasabi, Wasabia japonica, is sometimes known as Japanese Horseradish. The roots are traditional spice in Japan used in the manner of horseradish. Used with raw fish dishes such as sashimi or sushi. The roots are a greenish colour on the inside. Wasabi is native to Japan and eastern Asia. A semi-aquatic, Wasabi may be grown as a terrestrial. preferring moist well-drained soils in a shaded position. Frost resistant but drought tender. A perennial plant growing to 0.3m x 0.3m. When ordering dormant Wasabi plants, be prepared to pot up on receipt. Plants are not dormant and are actively growing. After potting up, grow on in moist shade.Supplied as bare rooted offsets packed in coir. Will require immediate potting up on arrival.
