Description Family Elaeocarpaceae Originating from Chile. The slender and sophisticated evergreen foliage of this new variety forms a perfect dark and glossy backdrop for its deliciously formed pink lantern shaped flowers. There are varying descriptions of its potential size, one can never be sure with such a recent introduction. It possibly grows to a smaller stature than the red flowered species, but it is receptive to pruning to keep it to your desired form. Happy in full sun and adaptable to part shade where perhaps its profusely borne, ethereal pale pink lanterns can be better appreciated. Happy in any non alkaline soil. Height and spread after 10 – 20 years 6m x 3m.
