Description Family Berberidaceae Originating from E. Asia and Mediterranean Beautifully formed abundant foliage makes soft mounds of slender deciduous heart-shaped leaves, festooned with delicate sprays of flowers in spring. Each leaf has a different form; some with unevenly shaped lobes at their base, while others are wide and pointed and some with lobes absent. Emerging flushed with a bronzy plum colour in spring, mellowing to a bright green for summer. The dainty panices of flowers have exquisite widely flared pale pink sepals surrounding the pendulous darker pink bell like petals. Easy to grow in any soil, even in dry shady conditions. Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 50cm x 50cm.
